About Ruqiya

My name is Ruqiya. I grew up the oldest of eight children and frequently cared for my younger siblings from a very young age. I also have more formal babysitting experience that started during my time at SMU. Additionally, I worked for three years as a Personal Care Attendant caring for severely disabled children in their homes. I studied Biology and Anthropology at SMU, and I am currently a third year medical student. I also worked as a tutor for two years, so I can help your children with their schoolwork, as needed. Lastly, I speak four languages and have lived in various countries around the world, so I can help broaden your children’s cultural horizons.
