I’m very used to working with kids, I’ve been sitting for relatives and family friends since middle school. I’m fluent in Spanish and English so for the past summers I was a counselor at a little kids camp, where I taught them Spanish and helped them with their homework. Hello, my Name is Alyssa. I am currently in college pursuing my master’s degree in Healthcare Social Work, and I’ve been caring for children for over 10 years. As the oldest of five siblings, I’ve spent much of my life helping care for younger children, along with babysitting for families from my parents’ church community. I enjoy working with kids of all ages and do especially well with siblings and multi-child households. I like to keep children engaged through a balance of creative activities and playing outside, depending on the family’s preferences and the children’s interests. I am patient, dependable, and skilled in de-escalation conflict. I am additionally able to help with tutoring and guiding children through chores and routines. I’m comfortable assisting with math, science, and social studies homework.

I am a Registered Behavior Technician for children with autism. The children I work with vary in age between 18 months and twelve years. I have been a Registered Behavior Technician since 2021. Along with my full time job, I have been a respite care lead since 2022. At my respite job I work with children, teens, and adults with disabilities ranging in age from 6 months to 60 years old. Prior to specifically working with individuals with special needs, I worked at a girls only after school and summer program for several years. I currently live on the north east side of Indy with my dachshund!
