I grew up in the Baton Rouge area, moved here for school, and am now a licensed clinical social worker. Over the years, I’ve formed lasting relationships with many local families and love getting to watch my littles grow… some have even outgrown needing a sitter! During the day I work in postpartum mental health- but I enjoy caring for littles on the side. I’m a big believer in the power of play, and spend most of my jobs on the floor with kids as they lead us in creative play. Happy to also help with bathing, diapering, bottle/meal prep, pet care, etc. I’m comfortable with newborns on up and have experience with multiples. Fully up to date on vaccines (Tdap, flu, Covid) and CPR certification (Red Cross). I also enjoy working with out of town families- if you’re staying at a hotel, I’m happy to bring games and activities to entertain the kids. I’m currently available evenings and weekends. I have been a soccer shots coach on the weekends, coaching 2 and 3 year olds. I work at an ABA therapy, providing therapy to kids on the spectrum. Hello! 👋🏼 💕 My name is Shelby and I truly cannot wait to take care of your kiddo(s)! I am currently a medical student at LSU graduating in December and applying to pediatrics residencies. My experience with kids begins in middle school when I volunteered on Sunday’s at my church’s Sunday school. I began babysitting in high school, and was a camp counselor during college. More recently I’ve worked as an EMT in the pediatrics ER at Manning Family Children’s and in the adult and pediatrics ER at Ochsner Main. I am currently CPR/BLS certified and have previously been certified in pediatric advanced life support and as an Emergency Medical Technician. I love reading, singing, and dancing!
